The Stanley Hotel is an old hotel located in Estes Park, Colorado.
The hotel was constructed from 1907-1909 after the creator of the Stanley Steamer automobile, Freelan Oscar Stanley, decided to construct a hotel at Estes Park because he was fond of the area. It was designed to cater to the wealthy and was a very elegant hotel (and still is).
- Three hotel rooms
- Former Carriage House
- Stephen King's famous novel The Shining was written here based off of events Stephen himself experienced inside the hotel, specifically in the room he stayed in.
- The former carriage house now is closed and has "death beds" inside it. These beds were ones that guests who died in slept in, and were relocated to the carriage house. This may also explain why that area is haunted.
